2. It is rainy in the south, snowy in the north, and dry in the west, with an annual rainfall of over 1000mm in about 15 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions. For 200 days of continuous rainy days, the roof is always wet, with poor drainage and water accumulation. It has not dried for several months and is soaked in waterproof layers. 3. In the arid and rainless northwest region, evaporation is much greater than rainfall, and there is often no water from the eaves after rain. These areas obviously have a reduced degree of waterproofing, and a second level building can also meet the waterproofing requirements. If a protective layer is done well, it can achieve a durable life.


4. In extremely cold and snowy areas, some waterproof materials cannot withstand the cyclic changes of low-temperature frost heave and shrinkage, leading to premature aging and fracture. Four liquid rolls are covered with white snow for five months in a year, and the waterproof layer is soaked in snow water for a long time. At the same time, the snow melts and freezes, and the frost resistance is not strong. Adhesives with poor water resistance will also fail. If waterproof materials that are not resistant to low temperatures are selected, inverted roofs should be constructed.


5. The waterproof construction season cannot be ignored. In the North China region, the season is also very cold, and water-soluble coatings cannot be used. Adhesives will reduce their bonding performance at 5 ℃, and construction cannot be carried out at temperatures below zero. When designing, it is summer, and during waterproof engineering construction, the adhesive will freeze and lose its bonding strength when it encounters concrete, causing the joint of the roll material to fail, delaying the construction period, and requiring miscellaneous materials. In the summer of Northeast China, waterproof materials that are afraid of cold can be used. However, in the harsh winter, these completed waterproof layers cannot withstand the damage of frost heave and contraction, and will fail prematurely. When designing, attention should be paid to understanding the temperature adaptability of the selected materials.
