Waterproof membrane process and unsuitable areas

Construction process of waterproofing membrane.
1. Environmental requirements.
As people pay more attention to the quality of home life, the requirements for waterproofing engineering in houses are also increasing. In order to ensure the quality of construction operations and waterproofing membrane laying, the indoor ambient temperature should be between+50C and+350C, while the hot-melt method for laying membranes can be used for construction in temperatures above -100C.
2. Requirements for roof drainage slope.
In the construction process of waterproofing membrane, the drainage slope of the flat roof is 2% to 3%. When the slope is less than the range, the best construction plan is to use materials to find the slope. If it is greater than 3%, SBS waterproofing membrane should use structural slope finding. The slope within a diameter range of 500mm around the water outlet should not be less than 5%, and the bottom drop of the ditch should not exceed 200mm. The longitudinal slope of the gutter and eaves gutter should not be less than 1%.
3. Treatment of gaps and cracks in the roof base layer.
If the base layer is a prefabricated concrete slab, and the gap width between the slabs is less than 20mm, fine aggregate concrete should be used to fill the joints. Note that the particle size of the stones should not exceed 10mm, and their strength grade should not be less than C20. When the gap width between slabs is greater than 40mm, 1 ф 6 steel bars or steel PVC waterproof roll reinforcement configured according to design requirements should be installed in the slab joints. After pouring the slab joint concrete, it should be covered and watered for 7 days. Construction can only continue when the concrete strength grade reaches C15.
If the base layer is cast-in-place reinforced concrete, if there are cracks in the slab, the cracks should be chiseled into 15-20mm wide and deep inverted octagonal grooves with a chisel. Then, the stone slag should be removed, the grooves should be blown clean, and the cracks should be filled with sealant every 15 minutes in two to three times. After filling the cracks, they can be flattened with a roller.
4. Requirements for roof leveling layer.
Leveling the roof is the base layer for laying the waterproofing membrane layer. It is to provide a flat, dense TPO waterproofing membrane and a strong, highly adhesive structural foundation. Therefore, when laying the membrane, it should be solid and there should be no protruding sharp corners, pits, or surface sanding. When checking with a ruler, the gap between the ruler and the leveling surface should not exceed 5MM. When leveling at the corners of adjacent surfaces, it should be made into a circular arc or obtuse angle.
Made within 500mm around the water outlet, with a slope of ≥ 5% and smooth.
The parapet wall, the roof flue, and the base of the staircase are made into a circular arc with a radius of 80mm, made of fine stone concrete.
Extend around the root of the roof pipe and use fine aggregate concrete to make a square cone polymer self-adhesive film waterproof membrane platform. The bottom surface of the cone platform is 300mm wide and 60mm high, leveled and smoothed.
5. House treatment agent.
In order to ensure integrity and strengthen the adhesion between the waterproofing membrane and the base layer, it is necessary to apply a coating on the base layer before the waterproofing membrane construction process. The base treatment agent generally used includes cold primer oil and base adhesive (base treatment agent) that is compatible with various polymer modified asphalt membranes and synthetic polymer membranes. Of course, when selecting, it should be compatible with the material of the membrane to avoid corrosion, incompatible bonding, and other adverse detachment phenomena of the membrane.
In addition to considering various factors such as project cost, climate, and environmental protection, the structure of the building is also a key element. Waterproof rolls have the advantages of convenient construction, short construction period, no maintenance after forming, no harm from average temperature, and low air pollution. They are suitable for wet and cold rural grassroots, locations where drainage pipes are blocked or water accumulates for a long time, uneven rural grassroots, and many prominent embedded parts. In areas with high typhoon levels for a long time, it is recommended not to use waterproof rolls. The layer thickness is very easy to control according to the requirements of the fire protection plan, and the material calculation is accurate. The lean management of engineering construction is convenient.
